Razr HD is toast

My Razr HD has been a fabulous phone UNTIL the recent upgrade. Wireless became inoperable. E-mail and other notifications stopped syncing. I stopped getting pictures through text. And today, after a hard reboot, the phone will not turn back on. It became so hot I thought it might burst into flames. I've been told since I don't have a warranty, there is nothing the local store can do for me. Really? I apparently need a warranty to protect myself from Verizon updates. I'd appreciate some help.

Its not Verizon's update. Its Google/phone maker Motorola

Verizon only gives you access to the cellular and data network.

Verizon's update destroyed mine also. No text messaging and battery is draining twice as fast. Verizon's solution was to buy a new phone at full price. The update may start out as Google's and Motorola's but Verizon always adds in extra crap like always.

They (Verizon) does not add any code.

So it is still the device makers and Google who writes the code.

i have nothing but problems with the razr--i had a simple flip phone-i have not payed the bill- and am looking outside of verizon-they upped my bill$30 a month -and NO ONE has spoken to me with the razr-the phone should have instructions-but the company did not make instruction books-because they put that money in their pocket-we should all vote laws by cellphones and take this company away-for the public to use----A-phone should be a right its the backbone of information that makes us free-but no old person was ever strong-so no one ever thought of voting on laws-and the battery is bad also.I could not believe the phone-was located 2 pages in when i got this razr(i do not like the name-sounds like cutting-i do not like the black with red color on droids, everytime i see black and red(I get ESP about a murder case )its a very bad sign black and red are devil colors-it tells the story of the person working on the Razr-i can feel it when i pick up the phone-i get a bad feel about this company-like they should be far away from America,s public-a VERY Bad feeling(dark and very dirty)they want to make America a monthly rent bill-information must become a free tool -and become a HOLY RIGHT

The color of device can be changed at time of purchase, or just put a case on it of the color you desire.

The battery if bad means to call Verizon for a tech support troubleshooting call.

Some people should not own cell phone.

Google writes the code then Verizon adds in all their bloat and crap. That's why the update has to go to Verizon first instead of just being pushed from Motorola and Google. That's why the change log for a Verizon Moto X is different from AT&T's or Sprint. Same thing for the Samsung Galaxy S4/S5 or the HTC ONE M7/M8.

Each carrier adds their secret sauce on top of the latest system update. Again why do you think each change log is different and why some carriers end up having problems with an update for a specific phone and others do not.

All carriers add their own bloatware apps. And they are all having issues. It is not just Verizon.

Verizon wireless does not touch the base update code, they have no access to Google's OS.

They and the others just add that junk that no one really wants but cannot delete but can shut off if they desire.

Personally like any app, I believe carriers should not put nothing on a customers devices. Just like Apple does not let them add anything to their devices.
