Ever since my android system updated I am having issues with receiving group text messages. I see the notification, but no messages are displaying. Any help is appreciated!

Motorola Droid (not sure of version) I will have had it for about a year and a half.....I only use messaging loaded on phone. I did use hangouts, but very rarely and it is no longer installed as an app on my phone.
