GALAXY S4 TEXTING FAILS

When is Verizon going to fix this issue??!!?? About the middle of May my texting started working only about 50% of the time. It seems to be consistently failing more when I'm in a 3G network. When I'm in 4G or on Wi-Fi it seems to work better. Numerous people are complaining of this and it seems to have started after an update in May. This needs to be addressed as a software issue and a fix created.

Thanks for asking, BArry51! We understand the importance of being able to use messages the way it is intended to be used.

The software team is still troubleshooting this matter to get this resolved.

In the meantime, do you use Rhapsody? If so, please uninstall the app and then test messages again.

We also ask that you put the device in Safe Mode to rule out any additional downloaded applications that could be causing this behavior.

If these steps do not work, we are asking that you take the phone in to get a replacement SIM card and to test it with the new SIM card.

Thanks for the quick response. I already had the SIM card replaced. I

do not have Rhapsody installed.

I will try the safe mode and let you know.

It seems to mostly do it when I'm only getting 3G. At my day job, I only

get 3G at my desk and this seems to be the main time, when I get texts that

fail to send. It happens for block of time, like an hour or two, then it

starts working again. A phone restart doesn't fix it. It consistently

fails every day for big portions of the day at my work.

Last week I was off work and my texting worked flawlessly the first few

days, I drove from Detroit to Chicago and stayed in Chicago. No problems at

all. Not one failed text. The 2nd half of the week I was at my family's

in a rural part of IA. When I was on my folks WIFI, I didn't have any

problems. But I shut WIFI off awhile and all I had there was 3G service.

Started getting text sending fails. Went back on WIFI and it worked

again immediately.

I had a text fail - about the typical time of the morning at work when my

texting starts failing. I put it into "safe mode" and a one work text

went through, but it took about 30 seconds. Then I powered it on and off,

to get back out of safe mode. Next text went, but it took about 30 sends.

Then the next text went immediately.

I don't know if it was being in safe mode, or just the powering to the

phone on and off. in the past, I've just reset my phone and texting will

work again for awhile.

my texts are failing every hour or so on the 3 g system. never a problem in 4g that i can tell. issue is, at work all day it is 3g only here and this is where i do most texting. it is very annoying. i had no issues here with text on my razor. this makes me regret upgrading. i been watching this and no help in a couple months has been offered to fix this besides the reset. I am also having the same problem. notably after the last update. it is a new phone, hardly any aps installed. did the reset, no change.

airplane mode then back to normal, and the text will go through, wait a few minutes and they will fail again. airplane mode again and then they go through.

please fix or i am going to return the phone as defective.
