Brightness on GS3 after upgrade.

After upgrading my GS3 to 4.4.2 this morning, the brightness on the standard internet app has dropped to to the point of near unreadability, even in low-light areas. Even under manual control, it only brightens for a fraction of a second after pressing the off button. Exiting the app used to result in dimming for an instant before exiting. Did something get switched backward?

Let's get to the bottom of this quickly! Does the brightness increase on other apps? Please power the device off then on and retest.

Definitely frustrating! I have rebooted (and hard-reset) the phone, and tried several other apps. None of them show the diminished brightness that the internet app does.
