Can I restore the lockscreen mute key in KitKat?

KitKat took away my favorite lock screen feature. There used to be a lock screen slider/button to mute/unmute the phone. Not on the KitKat lock screen that I have is there a way to restore this? Its really annoying to have to unlock the phone, to change the volume.

It is pretty much still there you just need to get to it a different way. Open the phone to the Home Screen and Hold the power button like you were trying to power down the phone. The menu that pops up will have the Mute function there as well as unmute and vibrate. Not ideal but it sure beats holding the volume button down until it turns all the was down.

Thanks, the real issue for me is having to unlock my phone! Corporate

security requires a password lock. It was definitely better to simply slide

to mute from the lock screen, without having to unlock to access home

screen!
