Why is my HTC One all the sudden using massive amounts of data?

I have never been even close to going over on my data and all the sudden the last 2 months my data has gone up dramatically. I have a 1 Gig plan and never used it all. Last month I "apparently" use 6.5 gigs. How is this possible? I haven't changed anything other than installed the software update a few months ago. Could is have something to do with the recent update? What gives?

Go into your Apps (menu>Settings>Apps) and go to anything that is new (app wise) and disable them if you do not use them. Some of these that are Data hogs are Verizon Cloud, Verizon Backup Assistant +, and more depending on what is present on your phone. You can look up apps online to see if they are necessary for the OS to operate or if they are simply add on apps and disable accordingly
