Is there any way to buy and use a prepaid Verizon phone on a line that I am still under contract? Phone is crap, and looking at options.

Try to borrow an old unused phone from a friend/relative or purchase a used one from a site such as swappa.com.

I don't know anyone who has an old phone. I tried when I got this last one, which was used, and it's garbage.

I am so sorry to hear you are having device issues. If you are looking to use a prepaid phone on your postpaid account the device must active of the prepaid account for 6 months before it can be activated on a postpaid account. What type of issues are you have with your current device though? What type of device do you have?
