I have a Samsung Galaxy S3. Was wondering when the new update would be available for this phone

Me Too! does anyone know when the 4.4 kitkat update will be available" I check he web and it looks like 6/20.. today but I checked for update on my S3 and its says it up to date but I'm still at 4.3...

I was wondering about that, too. I am somewhat concerned because on the announcement PDF (http://www.verizonwireless.com/dam/support/pdf/system_update/galaxy_s3-6-19-14.pdf), the version they are touting as the upgrade to 4.4 (JSS15J.I535VRUCNC1) is the exact same build number that I downloaded on 5/5/14 to do the Canadian connection fix for 4.3. Makes me wonder if my phone will ever get the new version without having to do a factory reset first.

Yes...mine updated on 5/3 also and I thought that was the 4.4 update but realized it was't when I looked at my phone information.
One of my biggest issues with Android phones is that it is up to the manufacturer to release an update, the carrier to get around to testing and approving the update, and then they might roll out the update for the masses. With Windows and Apple phones, they have more control of the update cycle, and see to release the updates in a more timely fashion.
I have it downloading now. Hoping it will fix my text messaging in my car with Uconnect.
Downloaded and installed earlier today. Love it so far!
