My messages don't send and they come in late

I recently became a member of Verizon wireless. Two days ago my messages started acting up everytime I send a message it says sending failed and I get messages in an hour or two late. How can I fix this problem? I have powered off my phone and restarted it and my messages start flooding in but it's only temporary. I have an LG g2.

Also my phone freezes up and since I have had it, it's powered off two times for whatever reason

A lot of us have had problems with our phones with the two latest updates in the Android operating systems. 4.3 and 4.4.2 hava lot of bugs. We're hoping to get another update fixing all of it, because our phones and the Verizon service was great before those updates. I'm sorry you're having troubles!

Scott.18, let's make sure you are getting your text messages on time and you getting those messages sent out. Are you using the default text application that came with the device? If so, please go into Settings, Application Manager, Slide the screen to the left to the ALL section, Tap on messaging, and then do Force Stop, Clear Data, and Clear Cache. Then power the device down all the way and power it back up. Then re-test. Please keep us posted.

This was not helpful I have done this multiple ties and I get the same results. I reset my phone and it worked for two or three days but now it has started doing the same thing. This is really irritating
