Galaxy S3 inconsistent sending texts on my wi-fi only

I have a Galaxy S3. When I'm on my home wi-fi network, when I send a text message, probably around 75% of the time the message doesn't send (and doesn't tell me that it didn't send - it just shows it as sending). If I turn on Airplane mode and then turn it back off, then the message sends. This only happens when I'm connected to my router. It seems to work find when I'm connected to any other wi-fi or when I'm on 4G or 3G.

Is there a setting I need to check on my router or on my phone or something? This has been happening ever since I got my S3. It's very, very frustrating.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If it's only your network having the issue, we could safely assume that your router is the issue. You would want to contact your router manufacturer.

I just got off chatting with the router support folks and they said that text messages do not go through the Internet so it couldn't me the router/modem. We tried turning off the firewall but I still had the same problem with text messages not being sent. Once I turned off my phone and then turned it back on then text messages started sending again. But that's consistent with what's been happening. In a little bit, text messages will stop sending unless I either turn off my phone and turn it back on, or if I turn on Airplane mode and then turn it off again. Then text messages start working again for a few text messages.

So, I'm back to the point where one group says it's the other group's problem and not theirs.

Thanks for showing concern, Ashley. I really appreciate that.

I know I've had trouble sending standard text messages. To be honest, I don't send enough picture messages to have noticed if I've had trouble with those kinds. I just tried sending a picture text and it went through alright. I then tried sending a normal text and it went through also. So those may be in the 25% that seem to go without issues. :smileyhappy:

Thanks Troyhusker. No reported issues in the zip. Have you tried using your messaging with wifi turned off? What type of location is this? If inside your home or workplace, have you tested outside away from these locations?

I have tried with wifi turned off and it works fine. It only seems to happen when I'm connected to my home wifi router. This is a wifi router/modem setup inside my house and I can either be in the same room or on the other side of the house and I still can only send 1 out of every 7-8 texts regardless of where I am in the house.

I have tested away from my house and have never had any trouble, whether on a public wifi or on 4G or 3G.
