Any way to recover data after security lock out and reset?

I have an HTC Droid DNA.  I had a swipe pattern lock set up.  My 4yo daughter tried the wrong pattern too many times and the phone went into some sort of self factory reset mode (I have since read online that this is some sort of security feature?) !!! 

Need help trying to restore my data.  Is there any hope?  I do have a backup on my laptop but it is about 6 months old, so it would be great if there was some sort of Unlock code or other method to counteract the reset.   I am particularly interested in recovering my text messages and contacts that were "saved to phone" instead of Google.

Have a Read at this I have a Feeling your htc phone is like my one m8 and if so then running the pattern to many times it will cause the phone to go into Wipe mode and It will be hard to recover anything.. your basically starting from scratch when you got the phone New..
