Coverage fading?

Over the past several months my signal strength has dropped until I can not reliably send or receive calls in my home or outside my home. I chose Verizon years ago because of the excellent coverage in my area, 28644. Now most calls do not come through or caller claims they can not hear me. Anything changing in the cell towers in my area? Coincidentally, AT&T has erected a couple of new cell towers in our county.

poprocker, I want to make sure you have reliable service. Are calls the only service being affected? Which phone do you have? I reviewed the area and do see where some challenges may be present.

I have an iPhone 4S. Data reception is good due to wi-fi in house (3G Extended), but if I wander outside of wi-fi range data is lost.

Thanks for sharing that information, poprocker! I can see why you are concerned about data signal loss.

Do you show any signal when you leave? Are calls also affected?

As traffic increases on the nearby serving cell site(s), the Radio Frequency coverage radius will decrease which will cause an even weaker signal.

Please also try to power off, remove/reinsert the SIM, power on and see if that makes a difference one the PRL (Preferred Roaming List) is updated.

Similar deal but with LTE in 05823. Worked flawlessly for just about a year and then about a month ago began to go down irregularly then went down solid about 3 weeks ago. Modem shows booming signals (RSSI -61, RSRP - 86, RSRQ - 10 and I can see the tower though it is 5 mi away) but cannot connect. iPhones usually show LTE not available (default to 3G) or when LTE is available with 2 dots (3G shows 4). LTE will usually not transfer data or only do so for a few minutes before going dow and must be disabled to use net, get e-mail etc. Anyone know anything?

Powered off and removed sim card;rinsers and power on but no improvement. Leaving home signal increases a few hundred yards away. This phone service is useless for me if I can’t use the phone in my home.
