I have been stuck in 3G for over a week now in Colorado Springs, why can't I pick up 4G?

I have Verizon for personal and business an both phones have been stuck in 3G for over a week.  Very frustrated paying for expensive serve because prison is supposed to be the best, but lately they sure have been very disappointing with there service. Please Help
