Can't text one contact?

I have a verizon droid maxx my brother has a at&t iPhone we cannot text each other? When I text him it shows its sent but he does not receive anything? I do not have his number blocked. He has his imessager shut off and I do not receive his texts either? We can call each other? I got a new phone in May but it the same as my old one. This problem did not stat till about mid July. We each tried resisting our phones. We each deleted each other out of our contacts and tried that way did not help? His wife also has an iPhone on the same plan and carrier as him and i can text and receive texts from her? I need some help please. Thank you

We can understand the importance of text messaging. Especially with family to keep in touch. Did your brother have a different phone previously? Did anything change on your phone? Any new applications or updates. Please download and try sending messages again with our Verizon Messages. Keep us posted.

No he hasn't updated phones and i haven't downloaded anything new or different to mine. We tried again deleting contacts and added them back. We still can not text each other.
