Can you change Cortana's name to something else?
Nope, you cannot change Cortana's name.
On the Verizon Network you call her "Siri" unless you have the HTC One M8.
How is the HTC One?
Ummm, Siri is exclusive to iPhone's only. All Windows Phone running 8.1 you call her Cortona.
So far so good. It's only been two days. I kinda like it so far.
Best regards,
Peggy Lavelle
Dogs are known for hope. . .
Every morning, in dog pounds all over America, hundreds of dogs awaken to their last day with gladness in their hearts.
Please make their dreams come true. Adopt or or foster a dog today. PASS IT ON...
Ummm, that's the joke! Unable to get Cortana unless you have the HTC One M8 on Verizon.
My wife has the iPhone and doesn't like Siri because she usually gives you website's as answers to your questions.
I am thinking about getting the HTC One & was looking to see what people thought of it.
Cortana is still in BETA, so she isn't fully functional yet, even in America. Given that, Cortana is still capable of doing things Siri still cannot, and Siri is not in BETA. Also, you might be interested to know that Siri actually gets a lot of her information from Microsoft's Bing Search Engine, a little known fact. Also, Microsoft's voice recognition software (VRS) is years ahead of Apple or Google's because Microsoft began VRS way back in the 1990s. Siri is capable of doing more with apps, because more developers design for Siri intervention. But with the coming of Windows 9 (one OS for all devices), this will most likely change. I firmly believe that more developers will jump on the Windows app development bandwagon as they will get a much larger market share then Apple and Android combined (due to the fact that an app created for Windows Phone will also be available worldwide on Desktops, Laptops, Tablets, Phablets and any other new device with the Windows OS installed). My choice? I'm sticking with Microsoft unless they fail me completely, but I'm very optimistic for a really great future for Windows OS.
P.S. I also like Cortana's voice better than Siri's, but that my own personal preference.
