Samsung Galaxy s4 calendar turning all appointments to meeting requests??

I recently purchased a Galaxy s4.  I have it set up to sync with my Outlook email and calendar.  Any appointments that I enter into my Outlook Calendar get converted to meeting requests on my Android calendar.  It is supremely annoying and creates loads of hassles.

Can anyone assist me with this?
