So, I took advantage of a trade-in program for iphone 6. So many fails. Here is my recommendation -- if you can, do a face to face trade in at the local verizon store. DO NOT TRUST THE MAIL IN PROCESS.
First the shipping material didn't come for 2 weeks, which pushed me past the date the supposed date I was supposed to send in the phone. I call the Customer support and ask if I can just walk in to a corporate store and do a face to face trade in. Well, he doen't know. My local phone is not picking up the phone at all. In fact, I gave up after they hung up on me more than once, I heard it pick up and immiedately hung up...
Long story short, the packing material finally show up and I send in the phone; and then after more than 2 weeks I get a status of " Device is broken - SIM Tray broken or missing". Um..no....my pristine phone spent the last few years in a case. I also took out the SIM and reinstalled the SIM tray myself right before packing. I'm OCD about this type of stuff as an IT guy. I'm very disappointed with VZ and PO'ed with who ever the heck they oursourced this to.
I've already contacted the outsourced vendor through calling 611 and complaining. They took down my number and supposed to call me back or email. I'm really not hopefull at all.
I hear many are experiencing same type of issues. I guess a call to consumer affairs in my state and BBB is in order if I can't get this resolved. Not sure what else I can do to have myself heard. If you are having problems do the same please. Defnitely going to att in two years, if not resolved.
