I moved in Emeryville, CA last year. Since then, I couldn't call at home due to very weak signal or no signal.
Sometimes I could call, but couldn't barely talk. Mostly the antenna bar is at its 0 or 3, but even at 3, it's fake 3. One or two step left or right makes it no signal.
Surely the 4G is not available here. the antenna bar on the right side of 4G is the antenna for cell-voice, of course.
The screenshot shows the highest bar at home and actually in the apartment complex here.
Somewhere in this complex, I could call, but not at home usually.
As it shows, even though there is 3 bars, it complaints there is no mobile network available.
I know that the displaying of antenna bar is sort of delayed. So, when you move in/out an area where the signal is bad, the antenna bar starts goes up a little later than the time you move out the area, and vice versa.
But, I'm standing at the same spot.
Is there any better wireless provide for this area? or does Verizon have plan to extend their infrastructure here?
It looks to me that this area is almost on the edge of a cell tower coverage. there is no practically tall buildings to block the signal.
The other side is just sea. So, probably for 'efficiency', Verizon may not build a cell tower to cover this edge area.
I am long time Verizon subscriber from LA.
