Please Clarify Alternate upgrade rules

Can a Verizon rep please explain simply the rules for alternate upgrade specifically in the following situation:

Line 1 Unlimited Data Upgrade available

Line 2 2GB Upgrade available 2/15

I transfer the upgrade from line 1 to line 2 and upgrade the phone from a 4 to a 5s on line 2.

What is the resulting data plan / upgrade eligibility date on line 1 and line 2 when the new phone is activated on Line 2

The whole online procedure and what you agree to and think you are doing is not matching what the reps are saying so I am trying here

Is your answer something you have seen in the last couple weeks?

I can clarify mydogrules! In this case of an alternate upgrade line 1 is agreeing to the 2 year contract therefore, line 1 will lose unlimited data and prompted to choose a tiered data plan or migrate the account to a MORE Everything plan. Since line 2 is actually activating the phone but already has a tiered data plan no changes on that line are needed. Thank you.

Even if a Verizon rep does not answer - has anyone done this recently?

They say the data package/contract will change on line 1 even though line 2 is getting the upgrade and new phone. In the end, both lines would be 2GB. The procedure only changes or asks about changing line 2, but line 1 is changed without any warning.

Line 2s upgrade date and contract do not change. Line 1 gets a 2 year contract and since unlimited lines are not eligible for upgrades line 1 goes to a 2 GB data plan.

Is this a recent change? I know people have transferred upgrades even earlier this year and kept unlimited data on the line they tranferred from. Many say you can still do it. You need a data package on the line getting the phone of course. AND why does the online order procedure show you changing the data plan for line 2 not line 1? Never says line 1 is changing or offers any options.

I guess I am looking for someone who has actually done this recently and can tell me what happened. Not what they think or even know will happen, but what actually happened.

Even when you swap upgrades the upgrade is still tied to the original line. Now COULD you keep unlimited data like some claim? Maybe. If they are it's a loophole. Well Verizon recently closed one loophole. You need to be prepared for the day they close this one and take your unlimited data away since you upgraded. Also some people have tried this and lost their unlimited data. So you're taking a risk. It's up to you to decide if it's worth the risk. 2/15 is not that far away. Just 5 months. Can line 2 not wait 5 months?
