Employment discount.. I think not!

Where can I find the written policy where it says I cannot have my employment discount if I have a discount from a high plan in more everything? I'm sick of the misinformation from customer care reps 5 said I could use both discounts 2 said I couldn't . Weeks later and hours on the phone I'm being told out of contract I can't use the discount.... Where's the policy on my end that I can read that, the employment verification department said the denied my discount but cannot send me the policy where I'm in violation. This is the hardest time I've Had with a cell phone company.

I have always thought the policy was that Verizon does not stack discounts. Simply choose the one which words out best.

Regardless, I don't think Verizon is obligated to provide a copy of the written policy. They either choose to give you a discount or they choose not to give you a discount.:smileyhappy:

So the more everything plan 10 gig and above gives you a discount of $25 per line access charge. Employment is a different category being based of of the monthly plan only. Terms and conditions or policies list all the possible ways the provider can choose not to give you certain things, however it's stated in writing because by law it must be disclosed not a thing to be determined by each individual rep. Of the company. Thanks for your input and for future reference you should look into the terms and conditions to see what kind of policies can effect you.

You can get the $25 per smartphone line discount and your employer discount on the data. Or at least I do.

I Had it for 2 cycles then they said it can't be done... That's what I'm trying to fix. Thanks I knew it was possible.

lewisr13 is correct, the Edge discount of $10/$25 is available even with employer discounts. The month-to-month discount of equivalent value is also available even with employer discounts.

I know exactly what policies pertain to my situation.

If you are attempting to add an Edge discount and are not currently on an Edge plan, you will not be able to do so.

If you want to add a month-to-month discount to a smartphone line access fee to an eligible line, you can do so simply by logging into your MyVerizon, navigating to "Change Features" and selecting that feature to add. Of course, Verizon can change its policies at any time and you could lose your month-to-month discount at any time.:smileyhappy: Additionally, once you get the discount, it does not necessarily go on for ever. Your eligibility for the discount can change. If you were to purchase a subsidized phone, your discount would fall off immediately.

The month-to-month discount is not advertised, nor will many Verizon reps either acknowledge or are aware of it.

The MoreEverything plan IS eligible to employee discounts.

Possible reasons for denial:

Only the acct owner is eligible for the discount so if you aren't the owner that may explain why you were denied.
It is also possible that your employer withdrew from the discount program.

So we shall see I called them again and now they can do the discount so I guess I need to wait a few days till the cycle ends to see if the issue happens again . I am the account owner and I work for home depot so the discount is better than Verizon employees by 3%. However it only works when applied. The only part that bothers me is why can't all of their people be on the same page about the details? Seems like hang up callback get a new answer... Just so frustrating then you get the call to let them know how they did..... boy that's fun!

I just switched off of my parents family plan to branch off on my own. I was paying the portion that I actually owed and that was $70 per month. I saw the ad for the new $60 single line plan with unlimited talk, text, and 2gb data and went for it. Before assuming liability for my own line, I asked multiple sales reps and customer service agents about the discount being applied to my new plan because I saw this thread before proceeding. They re-assured me several times that the discount was going to be applied to my account.

So I proceeded. After the account was finalized, I asked a rep online if the discount will be applied this month and she said my plan was not eligible. All in all, I will now be paying more than what I was before, and I have assumed liability instead of keeping it in my parents name.

I am extremely dissappointed in the lack of care Verizon has for their long time customers that have been mis-informed by THEIR own reps. Thanks a lot for stealing more money from the customers who have stuck with you through it all. This world is an ugly place, and it seems like Verizon is following suit.

Sorry you were given poor info but if the discount was originally based on your parents employment then once you took the account out of their name the discount was no longer valid. Unless you are an employee of the same place.

I have my own discount through my employer United federal credit union

You can't add any type of discount to the new $60 plan, including an employee discount, regardless of whether your employer has a discount or not.

When I had the loyalty plant was 60 my discount did nothing on my plan cause it was too low in price, so I was told, but it did give discount to any accessories purchased through Verizon

Unless you get a 60% discount the $60 single plan without the discount is going to be cheaper than single line on a regular More Everything plan anway.

so noticed one of phones said it was on a contract now so I called and they said they can't give both discounts unless both lines are under contract otherwise just the $25 per line discount. I told them I never gave permission to put my line on contract they said the only way to get contract was to upgrade. I told them I have my phones I brought to Verizon, they said oh we'll have to check why that happened. Put me on hold for thirty mins then said we have to call you back...... No call back.. Hmm

standard meaning what with or without contract and with or without our equipment? That's the problem all of you CSR have different requests for eligibility. It's plain and simple you all do the same STANDARD training so why do you all have different answers?

It should be as simple as asking what comes after two.... Three!

but instead you all have a different angle of how the company views things, I can't believe how much of a variance you have in the way of black and white plans that are pre-written to make it all easier. Wow I really wish I could take all this to corporate so they could see the level of service given and maybe they could explain why it's so hard to do a Customer Service job....

Yes I provided my own phones, two of them, and all I had was the more everything month to month discount for having over two gigs. Also the employee discount which has been the original topic of this whole conversation which was fine at first then supposedly denied for not being on a contract.

It's been that way for years. You must be in contract to receive an employee discount. If you're still receiving it out of contract, you're one of the few, if any.

When my main line went month-to-month back in May, my discount had to be re-validated. Maybe it's something new...

I had to revalidate mine last year but it had been in place for so long without being checked so I wasn't surprised by it.

In order to qualify for a employee discount there are several requirements you must meet they include:

1.Be the account Owner (Person legally responsible for billing.):there is a loophole to this if you have employee email address with your company.

2. Be employed by a corporation that has a discount

3. be able to verify the account and provide documentation requirements for your discount.

4. Be on a Elgiable plan.

5. Accept a contract on your account. (can be either a edge contract, 1 year when they existed, 2 year contract. you dont have to be in a contract just accept one in the past)
