I was looking to upgrade my phone, I have been able to for over a year but haven't needed to, and found a pre owned Galaxy S4 for $0.99. I went through the process of picking plans, features, etc. and at the checkout page there was a $30 upgrade fee. I was under the impression that I was eligible for a upgrade at a discount price but the upgrade is basically just means you start over every 2 years like you are a new customer and the $30 upgrade fee is actually the $30 activation fee every year. I wasn't even trying to buy a new phone. Its used. So I start a chat online and the lady was very nice and professional but did pretty much insult me when I told her that I would be going to Sprint, T-Mobile, AT&T, etc. to see if they would waive the fee to get my business. She asked me if it would be worth the pain and trouble shopping around to avoid such a small fee. Yes, she said SMALL fee. I don't make a lot of money at my current job but even when I made more, I didn't look at a $30 charge a small charge. With Verizon constantly trying to nickle and dime me and this insult from their "customer support", I will be shopping around.
