Why do I have to wait?

Why do I have to wait the full 24 months? I was under the impression that you could renew your contract and get a new phone prior to your term ending. According to MyVerizon my term ends 11/19/2014. Some clarification please?

Also I am not interested in the Edge program, thanks!

The upgrade policy was changed in April 2013 and was retroactive to contracts started January 2012 and later.

It isn't useless information. You signed a contract stating you'll get a phone at this price for 2 years of service.

They used to have 20 months but that was done away with roughly 2 years ago.

Now there is the useful information. Rather than the other post that was simply trolling. This reply has information addressing my concern. 4 years ago I signed a 2 year contract and did not have to wait a full two years. Roughly two years ago I did not have to wait the full 24 months. I was unaware that the policy no longer existed, I just thought they are trying to sell this edge program.
