Bandwidth Theft

I installed a bandwidth meter because my bandwidth usage was double the allotted amount each month. I am not on the internet very much. So last night while the computer was off and jetpack off, my bandwidth was being used by Verizon. Looks like theft to me.

Keep in mind when interpreting data use:

1) tower reporting can be delayed, so time stamp is time the data is reported, not necessarily the time it was used.

2) times shown are beginning of reporting periods, not the actual time data was used. See examples below:

For example, you turn your jetpack and computer off at 9pm and turn it on again at 8am.

7:00 pm 100 MB  [use before 7:00 pm and time shown prior]

8:30 pm 115 MB  [use between 7:00 pm and 8:30 pm]

1:00 am 325 MB [use between 8:30 pm and 1:00 am - including the 30 minutes the computer & jetpack were on]

9:00 am  50 MB  [use between 1:00 am and 9:00 am - incuding the 1 hour the computer & jetpack were on]

This would not indicate 325 MB used at 1:00 AM when you stuff is off. It actually is counting data used between 8:30 and 9:00 when you turned your computer and jetpack off.

With this info, does the record continue to show use between times when the jetpack was truly off?
