Wireless Home Phone Can't Place But Can Receive Calls

Just received and activated my Wireless Home Phone and ported my number to it this week. It worked for a while, maybe a few hours, then I started getting a busy signal every time I tried to place a call, but I could receive calls just fine. I decided to reprogram the Wireless Home Phone and dialed *228, then option 1. Phone programming was successful, then I am able to place phone calls again....for a while, again! I have gone through this multiple times, each time, reprogramming through *228 resolves the outgoing call problem, for a while.

What is going on? This needs resolved.

Because this was done earlier in the week given the symptoms you're reporting it sounds as if the port is not yet complete, or an error may have occurred. Does your landline where the number was ported currently operate?

Published port timeframes:

Wireless – 4-24 business hours to complete your port.

Landline – 2-10 business days to complete your port.

Note: These are minimum time frames. With certain circumstances, it could be longer.

Verizon informed me the port was completed, and Vonage service no longer works and my account with them shows the line has been disconnected.

Perfect! It may be a simple error in the system. If you give Verizon Wireless a call you'll want to speak with the port center they are good at fixing those errors and they can reach out to Vonage if needed for certain complicated situations.
