Why is my phone very warm to touch?
It sounds like there is an app that is running and using your battery... Check your Settings ...Battery to see what is using the power; close running apps and see if battery life improves.
If your phone is running KitKat 4.4 thats why.
It was a bad update my phone does the same with all apps off
How do I find out and van it be stopped?

Go to settings then to about phone then look for the android version it will say 4.4.2
Not until they make a patch for for for kitkat 4.4.2
