how to restore broken iphone to factory settings?

Recently my phone broke and doesnt function at all, i sent in a request to asurion and they sent me the new phone but it says that i have to restore my old phone to factory settings or pay a $300 fee and im super worried, my phone wont connect to itunes or anything and i am really in need up help, i cant afford $300 right now! please reply soon!

That is a lot of money to be charged. I want to make sure that we avoid that charge. Does your old iPhone turn on at all? Are you able to have access to the menus on the phone? If so, you can go into Settings, General, Reset, Erase All Content and  Settings. That will perform a full wipe on the old phone. I hope this information is helpful
