Due to bad reception of voice signal here in Emeryville CA ( I'm on the sea side ) I had my SIM card replaced recently by visiting a local Verizon store.
At the Verizon store ( Emeryville ), it finally worked. The phone information (Moto-X 1st gen. ) says "In Service" for voice.
However, when I came back my home ( on sea side ), the signal was almost always "Out Service" for voice.
(Strangely Data is always "In Service". )
After searching some nearby cell towers, I found out that the cell tower of Verizon is kind of far away and towers of AT&T and Sprint etc are also a little far.
So, in this area, probably I'm at the border lines of cell towers.
Practically I can' t make any call at home or nearby ( 5 Commodore Drv. Emeryville CA 94608) unless I move to somewhere like Telegraph.
Is there a way to have a reception enhanced? I understand my Moto-X 1st gen phone doen'st have voLTE capability. So, probably next year even when Verizon deploy voLTE widely, I may not get any benefit of more available data network.
