Droid Maxx now turns on whenever I charge it--it did not do this before.

I usually charge my phone overnight. I turn the phone off, and plug it in. Now, whenever I do this, the phone turns back on the second I plug it back in. If I try to turn it off again with the plug in, it just turns right back on.

How to fix? Have tried using different chargers, etc.

Motorola might have changed the code for the phone during a system update. All the recent Motorola phones (Moto X 2013, Moto X 2014 and DROID Turbo) I am familiar will turn on when plugged in to charge if they were previously power off. It could be the same with your phone.
