Verizon Moto G Can't Receive Messages From Non-Verizon Phones

I recently had my Moto G activated with a ported number from another carrier. I can make and receive calls, but can only send out text messages. I can only receive texts from friends who also have Verizon. I have dialed *228 numerous times and contacted Customer Support via chat, but to no avail. I still can't receive text messages. Please help!!

Perhaps a visit to a corporate store would be best then for hands-on tech support. Also, the porting process can take a couple days to fully port as well.

Did you get a new SIM card or use an old one?

My phone (Moto G) does not use a SIM card.

Thank you Snn5. I was thinking it may have to do with the port process. Hopefully it will resolve itself in the next day or two. I appreciate your quick reply and advice.
