My phone has stopped notifying with any sound.

I no longer get sound notifications on text messaging or incoming calls.

Having sound is very important on a working device. Please look on the left side of the phone. There is a switch. If it is orange this means you have vibrate set on the device. If you flip it the other way you will have sound on the phone.
