Going from an iPhone 4 to a 5, off contract to keep unlimited data

What exactly do I have to do?  I know I have to go into a VZ store to get a SIM card and I need to back up my contacts,  but how do I then activate the phone?  Call? Online?  I absolutely need to keep the data so I am super nervous about doing the wrong thing.   Thanks!

They will activate in store when you get the sim. Be very specific you want no plan change.  Immediaty check my verizon at the store and for the next few days just to be certain.
