I have a Droid Max. How do I back up my files from my phone to my computer?

You can plug your phone directly to the computer with the USB cable and the PC will read it just like a flash drive.  Just make sure you are in MTP or mass storage mode when you connect.  You will see a notification in your phones notification bar, just pull that down and tap on USB connection.
