Title says it all... reached out to Samsung... waste of time.
Download the APK, initiate install... runs for a moment then says "install failed".
Any ideas? I'm at a loss.
Unknown Sources enabled? Sideloading isn't a guarantee that apps will install. Usually means that the app is not compatible.

Let me say a couple of things.
1) I am delighted and amazed that Verizon is so responsive to our issues;
well done.
2) I removed the SIM and did another factory reset; unable to install.
3) No damage, however, maybe something I am unaware of has malfunctioned...
is there a diagnostic test you can run?
4) I have installed and ran, at least, twenty other apps without issue.
5) I have had nothing but flawless performance with 5.0 excluding this
issue; I love this version of Android!
6) I have decimated my data usage attempting to resolve it (I'm at 90% of
my 4 gigs and cycle ends 03/05). As I never go over it my limit is
frustrating that, in the end, it will cost me to fix such a seemingly
simple issue. Ultimately, I blame Samsung as the support response was
UNDERWHELMING.

I appreciate you taking the time to provide this information and providing those kind words! May I ask what happens when you attempt to install the update? Have you been able to head into Settings > Applications > Application Manage and reset the app. You may complete this by heading into the particular app and force stopping the service and clearing cache and data. I guess we can assume VZW or Samsung cannot give us an answer as to why we cannot install Galaxy Apps store!. This is unacceptable! Why are we not able to install the Galaxy Apps store? Is it because it is being discontinued or Google would not allow it? PLEASE let us know... With the current Galaxy Essentials, I have to manually search each app for updates! Also, I am unable to view my previously purchased apps!
How do I get the Galaxy App store back?
I used the app "Live Chat with Samsung support" on my Note3. And videochatted with a samsung technician about this and they said they could not provide any links or app's for the Galaxy App. Verizon is intentionally blocking access to the store, and issued something to Samsung to have their tech's from providing the app to customers. It's 100% Verizon's fault/blame/however you want to put it. Do the same on your Note3/Note4's to verify if you like. WHY is Verizon blocking this application? MANY of the Samsung telephone's internal App's can only be updated or provided via the Galaxy App store.
If Verizon's intentional blocking of this software threatens the security of my telephone due to not being able to update it settings properly THERE WILL BE A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT filed. Either fix the problem Verizon, or PAY US All for not fixing it.
I loved chatted with Samsung today also and they confirmed - AGAIN - that the only issue is with Verizon and they are intentionally blocking the Samsung Apps Store. I got the S6 recently and trying to use my Gear 1 with it again and very much want the Watch Styler app, but I can only get that through the Apps Store (not available on Essentials). Why would Verizon do this??? I am going to look at changing carriers. It's not hard these days and guessing Verizon just doesn't care.

As of 8/17/15 these worked fine first try. Both my wife and my Samsung S4's are stock and we're missing apps and other problems (mainly WiFi won't stay connected) after latest update to lollipop. Hope it works for you guys. I seriously think I'm going to go back to rooting my phones again. Less hassle that way.
Having same issue with note 4. All of a sudden it stopped letting me add apps??

I did everything that it said. Still does not work. Did not start till the last upgrade (maybe downgrade) frustrated and expensive. Burning data like crazy
