Updated sys to Kit Kat as recommended by Verizon. Now I can no longer add, move, copy, create files or folders to SD card. What's up with that?
There is no such thing as a stupid question. With Kitkat you are very limited in what you can do on the sd card, an app can write to its own folder on the sd card only, here is a little more info here How to bypass Android 4.4 (KitKat) external SD write restrictions without root
You are basically restricted to writing to a single folder per app on the sd card. The other option is to move things by connecting your device to a computer and using it.
Welcome to Kitkat, Android decided to restrict SD card access so many apps especially third party ones can no longer write to sd card.
It's not the apps I'm concerned, it's just posting data files.
The changes mean that third party apps like camera cannot write to sd card and apps like ES File explorer and similar also cannot write to the sd card.
This might sound stupid, but how does one manipulate files on the SD?
