Can I use my droid 4 vehicle charger (motorola spn5400a) with my new droid turbo? Don't care if it will not rapid charge, just dont want to damage the phone
Do they have the same USB plug? If so it should be fine.
While it might be possible, manufacturer and Verizon will suggest using the original OEM cable and charger to avoid any warranty issues.
Update: I see at the back of the droid turbo online userguide, it says:
Battery Charging Charge your Motorola phone using a compatible Motorola charger, another brand class 2
Limited Power Source USB charger that complies with USB 1.1 or 2.0 and complies with
EN301489-34, IEC62684 or equivalent, or a high-power USB port on a PC. Chargers that do
not comply with these standards may be unsafe, and may cause slow charging, product
damage, or reduced device performance.
I tried searching for the motorola spn5400a compliance specs with no luck (including Motorola's site).
I noticed the Verizon droid turbo accessories listings only has generic Verizon name-brand chargers-- there is not a Motorola vehicle charge available anymore.
last , btw the usb ports are the same, that's not the issue \ problem.
