Droid 2 won't charge

I have a very old Droid2 Star Wars phone; forgot where it was and when I finally found it the battery had drained completely. Now it won't charge... blank screen, no lights, no indicators... nothing. I am using the charging dock that came with the phone, verified that the socket it's plugged into has power, removed and re-seated the battery. Is there something special I need to do to "wake up" the battery, or am I dead in the water?

Thanks in advance... we're in the middle of a move and I don't have time to deal with this, but I really need the phone!!

Since there is no secret button/combo (I tried what Snn5 suggested but it didn't work) - I ordered a new Motorola battery on Amazon with 2-day shipping - I'll have it tomorrow or Wed and that should be that.

I'd look locally if you need a battery right now. It's higher locally than buying online though. Ebay and Amazon have much cheaper prices than physical stores, but be careful and buy NEW from a reputable seller. Avoid any who mention re-conditioned batteries.

It's probably time to say goodby to that phone considering the age but you could also purchase a new battery to bring it back to a second life. If I were you I would go for a newer used phone from Swappa or even a new phone if the deal is a good one for you in the long term. For the short fix go with a low end prepaid pay as you go phone. :smileyhappy:

OP needs a fix ASAP. Middle of moving, not time to fiddle with it. But it does sound like the battery is most likely the issue. It may have too many dead cells inside considering it is over 5 years old. You could try to boot into recovery with power+vol up or down or all 3 buttons at the same time, but as a former owner of the regular droid 2, I know of no other way and I didn't have it long enough (2 years) to experience the "wont come on" issue.
