Reset an I phone 4. Now phone says that it needs a SIM card. Verizon says it's an Apple problem, Apple says it's an Verizon problem. My problem is the phone has no service. Who is correct and how do I fix it?
Did you have service before the reset?
Considering the Verizon iPhone 4 does not have a SIM slot, I'd say this is an Apple problem.
Yes, phone worked before reset.
I would agree with you, but Apple said that it has a build in SIM card and that the phone is fine.
exactly if it is built in, how can yo uor Verizon do anything about it. SIM card is not even needed for Verizon 3G devices. You need a second Apple support person. Do you have an Apple Store near you?
I do have a Apple store in my area. I also have chatted with Apple online, they told me to do the forced restore at iTunes and that would take care of the problem. However that didn't work. I wish Apple and Verizon would talk to each other and figure this out instead of pointing the finger at the other guy. Will probably just have to get another phone, but it was working fine until my daughter reset it to give to my wife.
On the back of the iPhone on the bottom what does it say for the model?
it says A1387 but the back cover has been replaced.
You have an iPhone 4S not an iPhone 4. Can you open the sim tray? Remove the SIM card from your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
Phone started working today. Still don't know if it was Verizon or Apple and I really don't care. Glad that it wasn't the phone itself. Only bad thing is all the hours I spent trying to get it taken care of.
Had you turned it off, then on before?
Usually powering off, then on again or resetting network settings do the job.
