Date and Time have stopped working

Went on a trip with the phone in airplane mode, connected a bit in a different time zone (went from Pacific to Eastern) and the phone's date and time stops working intermittently.

Texting stopped working as well, but I was able to rescue that.

I am supposed to notify my cell provider? I went into the verizon store and they just manually set the date/time. IT'S STILL BROKE!
