Too many problems with Samsung Intensity?

I recently upgraded my phone to the Samsung intensity, and I'm horribly frustrated. My USB cord does not work, I can't set individual ringtones to individual contact ids, I can't copy music to my phone, etc. I've called customer service 4 times, including a PROMISE to get a return phone call (which never came), and went to the local store twice. I tried to get the USB device drivers by download from this site- no such luck. I'm so very disappointed, and also p-o'd, with the service I'm getting. Anybody else have the same or similar problems? And how did you get it handled? Is it because I didn't want extra internet for my phone? A bad USB cable? Or just too much stupidity on my part? You'd think the phone would have come with step-by-step instructions, but of course not.... Any ideas or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!

Could it be because I have not purchased a "data plan"? This is all SOOOO new to me....

As for the USB connection, have you installed an SD memory card in the phone yet? I dont believe it will recognize the phone until then.

I JUST BOUGHT A SAMSUNG INTENSITY PHONE AND AM UNABLE TO GET MY PICTURE ID'S THAT I HAVE ASSIGNED TO MY CONTACTS TO APPEAR ON MY PHONE WHEN THEY CALL. SPENT ALL DAY ON THE PHONE WITH SAMSUNG WITH NO RESOLUTIONS. CAN ANYONE HELP WITH A SOLUTION?

Are the pictures on the SD card or on the phone's internal memory? They may need to be on the internal memory to work as a contact ID.

How are you editing and setting the contact ID? Here are the instructions from the Verizon "How To" section for the Intensity:

Editing a Contact
1. From the main screen, press the right soft key to choose Contacts.
2. Select the desired contact then press the left soft key to choose Edit.
3. Make the desired changes then press the center of the 5-way navigation pad to choose SAVE.

i have had my phone for about a month now, i am taking it back to the store in which i purchased it Sat.. in the time that i have had this phone, i had to recharge it seems like every other day, very frustrating..the talk time isn't good either, if i have a 30 minutes conversation, i'm down to like a bar or so, i had been trying to get wallpapers, and ringtones from media store, i get message that it is not avaible for this device...it locks constantly..i'm having a terrible time with this phone, any suggestions ??
