Voicemail message notification indicator not working on iPhone 6

Hi, The voicemail message notification indication is not functioning on my iPhone 6. I've tried turning it on by calling *86, but I'm not given the option to do so there in the person options menu. Recently switched from iPhone 4s and indicator worked fine. A few things I've tried are insuring that Cellular is on and I've also reset network settings. Can someone please help?
