help really don't we want to factory reset

My old droid x2 was on through 2 of my pregnancies and had a ton of irreplaceable pics on it, I got it out the other day wanting to look up some thing and just couldn't get the pattern right, I was talking to a friend really not paying much attention when BAM it almost turned off but didn't and now says I must sign in to my gmail account to unlock it. I would have gotten the pattern right eventually but not I can't try, the phone hadn't had service in a long time and it's WiFi toggle is turned off. What I've heard is nothing can be done except to factor rest!! I can't just lose all those memories... I have Verizon service now but 4gLTE, can I switch old phone to our account just until it connects for me to login or can maybe the Verizon shop work some magic on it? I read it fry's ur Sim to switch and I just got new phone don't wanna "fry" anything., but will if it's the ONLY WAY.. Any info greatly appreciated!! Thanks

Do you know the original gmail account and password, it should accept those credentials to login to phone regardless of wi-fi settings, those are cached on the phone locally.

You should be able to use the wifi toggle from the pull down notification bar. You can swap SIMs if they are the same size. This WILL NOT fry anything. You WILL have to connect to data somehow for the Google info to connect to Google to get back into the phone though.

I know those photos are precious Mrs.Thompson102. I am a mother of 3 and I will try my hardest to preserve them. Are you able to turn on the WiFi? Do you know you Gmail address and password? You can try to plug your phone in the computer to see if the files will automatically transfer for you. Once you plug it in it should give you a pop up stating what you would like to do with the files and you would select import. Keep me updated.

You should be able to use your charging cable and plug it into your usb port on your computer and transfer your cameras file or all files onto the computer. Then do the same with your new phone and download them on the new phone. When the files are on your computer look threw the files to find the picture file usually in camera file. Then just download them. Worst sinario download all of them on new phone. Hope that helps.

Can you access Mass Storage Mode when the phone is locked?

I have found that you have to unlock the phone to access it via computer (mass storage mode), otherwise it defeats the purpose of the lock.
