Just got Verizon 3G Router, need help installing?

Hi all, I'm brain dead trying to figure out how to use the Verizon (westell) router I just got, it's a vz7501. I use a usb umw190 to connect to my desktop AND my netbook and would like to be able to use the netbook thru the router. Would someone have a couple minutes to explain to me how to hook up? I just don't know how. I have made it as far as plugging the router in. I tried plugging the usb device into the router and used an ethernet cable connected from the router to the back of my desktop but it's not working and I know it's not right. The manual is 150 pages long and I can find nothing in there on how to hook it up with a usb wireless device. HELP!

The UMW190 USB device will provide you with a wireless 1xEVDO (REV A) connection. The UMW190 USB device does not provide your desktop with WiFi (802.11 a/b/n) capability. The 7501 router you currently have will broadcast the signal using your existing provider’s high speed internet connection, however you will need WiFi (802.11 a/b/n) on your desktop in order to pick your 7501 routers broadcast.

The UMW190 USB device would remain in your desktop (as plugging it into the router would not work).
To ensure that the router is set up properly you can visit our website at www.verizonwireless.com/support . Once on the page, you can type 7501 into the search bar and click the “red” search button. The search will provide you with several links that will help ensure that the 7501 router is setup correctly.

Is Verizon wireless your one and only internet source? If so, I would return the Verizon router and get a CradlePoint router. With the CradlePoint router, you will plug your UMW190 Verizon wireless internet card directly into the router. You will connect your computers to the router wirelessly using WIFI. You can plug your printer directly into the router. If your desktop does not have a USB wireless internet adapter card to connect to the router wirelessly, you can purchase one at Walmart or you can plug the desktop directly into the router using an ethernet cable.

Thanks, I sent the router back, misrepresentation in my eyes but oh well. I am looking into a cradlepoint.

vzam is our only internet access. we have tried internet sharing, but are trying the cradlepoint mbr router instead.

the router installed easily, and works, however the internet speed is SNAIL paced. It's as if we are using the NationalAccess instead of the EVO Broadband.

If I disconnect the router, and fall back to Internet Sharing, the EVO Broadband speed returns.

If I contact vzam 800# will they talk to me?

I tried updating the firmware on the cradlepoint mbr1000 but haven't had a chance to try it out since.

Any input from the community?
