Is it possible to disable the native messaging app? it possible to disable the naive messaging app? I use vzmessages and get txt notifications on that app and the apple message app.

jharg, I too would find that very annoying as well. Let's help keep those notifications down to a minimum. This is worth a shot. If you go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive>You should be able to set how your iMessages send and receive.

Choose your email addresses linked to your iMessages. Also, disable the option for Send as SMS. This can help limit the amount of sms that arrives on your phone.
