How do I remove the contacts auto backup feature?

Ever since installation of autobackup on contacts, it starts and gets hung up and is persistent which drains my battery drastically. How do I completely remove this feature from my phone, or just disable it? It is not on the phone, so that's why I came to this website. I am not finding any answers.

Found some helpful information that did something, hopefully ended this cycle.

Resetting Backup Assistant

[Device-Specific Instructions]

If the setup failed to complete and cannot be reset using the method outlined below then reference Downloading and Configuring Backup Assistant to re-setup the account as a new user.

Non-Touchscreen Devices

While in Backup Assistant^SM, select Options.
Select About or Help.
Enter *73738#.
The characters won't appear on the screen. After entering the code, Backup Assistant closes and exits to the menu.

It goes right into opening the BUAssistant and there's no options to

cancel. I have searched in this phone hi and low and cannot find it. I

searched Verizon website and I deleted my cloud service thinking that would

help. My phone just started backup mode a few minutes ago and just sits and

hangs, some times for hours. sometimes it will actually accomplish a

backup, but now since no cloud, why would it be a successful backup? where

is that going???

there is nowhere that says I have a subscription to this therefore no

offering to me to delete or unsubscribe. I've spent hours on this, on the

phone, and on the verizon website and still shows my contacts backed up but

not sure why they are still there.

no, the Media Center only offers to run the back up assistant. I can change

pin #, read that support is on the web, which it's not, or set schedule,

but nowhere to stop schedule or delete completely.

is there a way we can actually work together instead of the e-mailing, I've

tried to sit here doing my work and also visited backupassistant FAQ and

anything related to this "App". It's all about how to get it and install

it, not clean your phone of it.
