How to type symbols such as $ using 4s keypad?
When you're within a text message and typing, press "SYM" - bottom left corner. Then you can press "1/2" for a second screen. OR you can long press. For instance "$" is the letter "S" - long press the letter S and the money symbol will be inserted.
