international calls receiving and sending

When I arrive will I be able to receive calls immediately? I know about the + in front of the number I am dialing to call out.  Will a person be able to reach me just by dialing my number here in the USA?  Or do they have to do something special to reach me internationally?

Incoming callers can dial your number as usual when you are in the U.S. as long as your phone is set up correctly. What country are you visiting? What make and model phone do you have?
