LG V10 issues

Hello all, I just got my LG v10 less than a week ago and its a nice phone with nice features but there a few things that really really bug me. I can't run any benchmark mark apps like Geekbench or AnTuTu Benchmark because I get the message 'turn off network connection to run benchmark app' which I have never seen on my old LG G2. This v10 phone seems way too restrictive for my liking as this is Android and not IOS. There is also no LTE with a gsm network which is quite stupid, what in the heck has Verizon done to this poor phone. My previous LG G2 never had any of these issues and I may just return this device since the cons are starting to outweigh the pros on this phone. Feels like I'm going backwards on a phone ,which is not good at all.

I just want to say that with the latest LG V10 11B update that it no longer does this so I can run all benchmark apps now and many other bugs are fixed. Still doesn't work well with LTE on gsm/umts networks, but that isn't really a problem since I'm on Verizon Wireless.

Hi Fandr980, I can understand your concerns about the features on the LG V10 device and do not want you goung backwards on your new device. However, I would desire you to like your new device as it is an investment worth the value. Besides the issues dealing with the 3rd party, are you having trouble locating the GMS function on this device? If so, to access GSM mode go to home screen, navigate to Apps, setting, more, Mobile Networks, System select, Network mode, then select LTR/GSM/UMTS. Let me know if you need any further assistance as I would hope the overall features that the device can do would outweigh the issues with the 3 party apps.

When I set the v10 to LTE/GSM/UMTS it hooks to 4g lte for like 2 seconds then goes to zero signal, it refuses to hold lte, which is annoying, my LG G2 has no issues holding when set to LTE/GSM/UMTS, however the v10 does, if this is a bug, then it should be fixed asap because if I were roaming in another country there is no way I'd get lte like I should be able to since this phone supports so many lte bands. I pick up tons of LTE networks locally like US Cellular, Viaero, AT&T, and Verizon Wireless of course, but it only hold onto lte with global mode or LTE/CDMA. Either of those options and you will only get 4g lte data and no voice at all.

Newer smartphone are not voice and data simultaneously capable unless you activate the Advanced Calling feature. As far as the LTE/GSM/UMTS setting, this is only for global travel. Inside the United States your device is only going to pick up the Verizon Wireless network. It will not pick up any other carrier's signal.

This has nothing to do with VOLTE, Volte just allows voice and data over LTE, but that should work fine even when on LTE/GSM/UMTS mode, the issue here is it should be able to at least keep an lte signal in that mode, as all other Verizon phones I've ever had always worked with LTE/GSM/UMTS mode without any issues. Even the Droid Turbo 2 I had before, but had to return since it had a screen defect worked fine in LTE/GSM/UMTS mode and the benchmark apps worked fine on that phone. So something is very funny with the v10.

Can I ask you what zip code are you currently in where you are having the problem? We may have to look deeper into your device to see about resolving this matter. Others have had the same issue with lte+gsm so I doubt its my device, its most likely its a software bug or Verizon Wireless did it on purpose, although it will still work on GSM and UMTS networks, but its still a big step back from other unlocked 4g lte Verizon devices, which makes no sense to me.
