My Indian sim card doesn't work in my Verizon 4G LTE phone

Hi, everyone. I would really appreciate it if anyone could help me out with this. So I asked my uncle, who works abroad, to get a Sony Xperia Z3 for me. He bought a Z3v instead because it was bigger. I told him it might not work in India, since it's a Verizon phone, but he said it would, all I needed to do was insert a nano sim card. I did so, but now I see a "SIM card is not from Verizon Wireless" notification. I read that since all 4G LTE devices are unlocked, any sim card would work, but mine doesn't recognise the sim! What should I do? I feel so helpless.

I have carefully reviewed the specifications of your Sony Xperia Z3V and I see this is a global device which would work in a GSM/CDMA technology. This phone comes unlocked by the manufacturer to work anywhere in the world. I would suggest to check on some settings with your international wireless provider to make sure it is set to either GSM or CDMA. To do this, please go to your phone Settings, then tap More. Select Mobile Networks>Network Mode. From there, select the appropriate setting that would work with your current carrier. It may need as many as six registration attemps with your carrier prior to successful registration. If issue persists, please contact your carrier for more information on how to register your Sim card. Best regards.
