Using my phone while in England

Can someone please explain in plain english what service I need to add to my phone in order for me to receive and make calls from England, I could not make heads or tails between global phones and standard roaming.  I will be there for only one week... Any help will be appreciated.

Well first off, what phone do you currently have?

Second, England is GSM only so you will need to have a Global capable device in order to get service while in England.

 

Global phones: Blackberry Storm, Blackberry Tour, Samsung Saga, Samsung Omnia, HTC Ozone, Samsung Renown, and VzW Escapade.
