You should be able to post to Facebook by using the Facebook app. I don't quite understand what you mean by send text; within the Facebook app you should be able to utilize it's messaging service also.
When you register your number with FB, you can change messaging and mobile features like texting an update, post or pic to FB's text number. Go to your profile and check Privacy and such.
